Locals are supportive and feel the change was well-planned and feel sufficiently reassured by statements and actions of Centre, Doval mentioned in his report to the Centre.

Minor protests in Kargil
Several people were detained after they defied restrictions and took out a rally to protest against the revoking of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
Defying restrictions imposed under Section 144 of the CrPC, around 300 people took out a rally under the banner of Joint Action Committee.
Some of the people were detained after a minor clash broke out between police and protesters, the officials said.
There is a lot of happiness in the people in Jammu.
Today, Valmiki population is around 8000 in Jammu region. 272 families were brought in 1957 from Punjab for sanitation jobs on promise of Permanent Resident Certificate. However, they were denied permanent residency that prevented them and their families to apply for any government jobs.
In one of the video we obtained, some of the Safai Karmcharis (Sanitation workers) spoke to the India Today Correspondent post abrogation of Article 370. They told the reason for their jubilation. One of the sweepers named Bhatti said, “In 1957, our people were brought from Punjab’s Gurdaspur and Amritsar for sweeping job as the local sweepers were on indefinite strike. We came and cleaned the streets. We were promised that we will be given citizenship. However, the biggest facility of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) was denied. This day has brought a new dawn in our life, it gives us Independence and Freedom.
Another Sanitation worker told, “I am living the same life. Once Modi came, the new dawn started. The cleaning job is as hard as a task of a soldier fighting on the border. I have worked for 25 years, even carried the dirt on my head and cleaned the sewage lines with my own hands. Only for my children’s future.”
There was celebration in Valmiki colony in Jammu, post abrogation of Article 370. Sweets were distributed because with the end of special status, there is no further need for a residency certificate which kept the community away from government jobs.
Another video by India Today, correspondent spoke to children, 11 years old Anadi said he wants to become Advocate. He understands that Article 370 and 35A, no one could get any jobs. Now with abrogation of Article 370 could become an Advocate what his 3 generations could not dare to dream. There are these people in Jammu, the cast system, class system, discrimination was thriving in Jammu because of Article 370 giving special status. Now with the abrogation of Article 370, it brings new hopes in their lives.
In another Video we obtained post abrogation of Article 370, People in Kashmir are happy and they say that they only need to get rid of corruption. They reiterated their cordial relations with Indian Army. They said despite the curfew, if there is any need for any child or elderly person to be hospitalized, their nearest Army unit is very cooperative and helps.
Interview of Aditya Raj Kaul with Mohammad Ashraf Azad of All Jammu & Kashmir Peace Council
In a series of video shared by a noted Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul, he interviewed an old Kashmiri Muslim, Mohammad Ashraf Azad of All Jammu & Kashmir Peace Council in Srinagar, post abrogation of Article 370, about support of Muslims over abrogation of Article 370 as it would end dynasty rule and corruption, bringing more jobs, peace and end to violence.
Video 1: Mohammad Ashraf Azad of All Jammu & Kashmir Peace Council in the interview said, “People do not know what Article 370 is. Whether it is a friend or an enemy. Slowly people came front of a Gazetted officers and talked about unemployment. They gave reasons why youngsters don’t get jobs, why do they pick up the stones or guns. The Gazetted officer forwarded the report to Parliament. This voice went to the Parliament. Narendra Modi saw the plight of the people. He understood that the Indian Government sends the funds and understood the reasons why those funds didn’t reach the people. Corruption was the cause of the unemployment.”
Video 2: Mohammad Ashraf Azad Continues, “The main reason of unemployment was corruption. Narendra Modi took a decision. Enemy is Article 370, Government send funds from Delhi and people don’t get it no development takes place. Kashmiri people need development, employment, prosperity, identity. There is no identity for Kashmiri people. Today Kashmiri youth understand, they are going to get an identity. Kashmir was a heaven once, but these Politicians (Siyasatdaar) have made Kashmir a hell. Their mistakes destroyed Kashmir. These politicians said to us, ‘you don’t know what is going to happen’. Today youth are happy, they are going to get identity, employment, prosperity, development, everything will be good, we are Indians. Kashmir is an integral part of India.”
On a question that people say bad things happened in Kashmir downtown, Mohammad Ashraf Azad replied, “Reality is one dirty fish spoils the pond. Those so-called stakeholders know they have they have taken bribes, destroyed Kashmir, never given identity to Kashmiri youth. There are such people.”
Video 3: They try to spoil this pond, this heaven. Don’t look at that. It will take some time. Slowly everything will be alright. Once youth gets their identity, they will say “Hindustan Zindabad”. Pakistan should look into their own house. Today’s Pakistan Prime minister is fine, but he has nothing in his hands. He is trying to save his country. It will take time. India is our country. India should care for betterment of youth, poor. Again and again one Dynasty runs their rule, how to destroy the poor. They sit as rulers. Once the situation improves, youth will be prosperous. Kashmir will again be a heaven. Tourists will visit from worldwide as Narendra Modi said will come to Kashmir.”
Senior Congress leader and former J&K ruler Maharaja Hari Singh’s son Karan Singh
Supporting the government over its recent J&K decisions, senior Congress leader and former J&K ruler Maharaja Hari Singh’s son Karan Singh said he does not agree with a blanket condemnation of the government’s move and said that there are several positives in the government’s decision.
Welcoming post abrogation Article 370, bifurcation of Ladakh into a union territory, Singh said “Ladakh’s emergence as a Union Territory is to be welcomed. In fact, I had suggested this as far back as 1965 when I was still the Sadar-i-Riyasat of J&K and had proposed the reorganisation of the State.”
He also said that he supports the abrogation of provisions of Article 35A. He said, “The gender discrimination in Article 35A needed to be addressed as also the long-awaited enfranchisement of lakhs of West Pakistan refugees and the reservations for the Scheduled Tribes which will be welcomed. There will be fresh delimitation, which for the first time, will ensure a fair division of political power between Jammu and Kashmir region.”
Supreme Court Unit of the AICC (All India Congress Committee) Legal, human rights and RTI department
Supreme Court Unit of the AICC (All India Congress Committee) Legal, human rights and RTI department endorsed and supported abrogation of Article 370. In a Press note signed by Chairman Supreme Court Unit of the AICC Legal, human rights and RTI department, they said, “The Supreme Court Unit of the AICC (All India Congress Committee) Legal, human rights and RTI department resolves to fully endorse and support, in national interest, the decision whereby the two Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir have been created.
The meeting also endorses the stand of senior Congress Leader Dr. Karan Singh and hails the revoking of Article 35A by which gender discrimination has been addressed. The committee also welcomed the possibility of delimitation as it was felt that it will ensure fair division of political power between the Jammu and Kashmir regions. Further, it was felt that the long awaited enfranchisement of West Pakistan refugees and reservations for scheduled tribes and economically weaker sections will go a long way in ameliorating the plight of the people of these categories. The committee further resolved to endorse the abrogation of Article 370, as it felt that it was a temporary and transitional provision and was not meant to be permanent. The steps taken has ensured complete integration of Kashmir with India.”
Narendra Modi address to the nation
In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Our priority is the socio-economic development of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. It is vital these beautiful regions become centers of growth and the skills of the local youngsters are utilized effectively. There are ample opportunities in sports, tourism and culture.”
“Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh have the potential to be the biggest tourist hub of the world. There was a time when Kashmir was the favorite destination of Bollywood film makers, I am confident that in future even international films will be shot there.”
Responding to the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noted film director, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri tweeted, “Thanks @narendramodi for your special mention of film industry to contribute to Jammu & Kashmir’s Development. I start shooting in Kashmir soon. I am confident our collaboration will bring golden times back.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a firm warning to the separatists and terrorists that their design to disturb Jammu and Kashmir by creating a sense of alienation and fear under the garb of Article 370, is not going to work anymore.
Rumor Mongering by Pakistani Twitter Handles
Thousands of Pakistani Twitter handles started trending different hashtags to show their opposition to India’s decision to amend Indian Constitution. It should be noted that Pakistan DG ISPR Asif Gafoor has hired thousands of trolls army to trend any hashtags on Twitter.
One of the Twitter users busted this Pakistani conspiracy and showed the evidence that Pakistani troll accounts were tweeting the same hashtag multiple times with the variation of a special character at the beginning. He tweeted, “Anything that trends on @Twitter is not Truth. Here is a small example. One Pakistani Handle, tweeting a Hashtag multiple times, Pakistan has troll army of thousands on Twitter and other social media platforms. Imagine if everyone tweets, will it make a Truth a Lie? #LierPakistan”
He further tweeted, “Special characters and then hashtags. How Smart! Does any Trending on Twitter make any difference? Kashmiris in India are more Prosperous than Kashmiris in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Let’s also Talk about Genocide in Balohistan, Pashtunistan & Muhajiristan?”
Social media including Twitter was bombarded by Pakistani Twitter handles, with old photographs and videos claiming to show the “current situation of Kashmir” in order to defame Indian Army. India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that the images were not recent. These images were from separate incidents and clicked in different years. In an article titled, “Fact Check: Old, unrelated images shared as ‘plight’ of Kashmir after Article 370 revoked”, AFWA used reverse image search to unveil the truth.
Since Pakistan is running a vile propaganda against India and running rumor mongering using its thousands of trolls, People in India protested and burnt the Pakistani flag as a mark of their protests.
Pakistan’s thousands of paid trolls are using every possible picture or video they can find online to defame India that the situation is bad for Kashmiris. Even one of the big Indian Channel also showed the situation as grave. Even the Pakistan government Twitter handle used that channels bigoted reporting to show that the situation is not good. It is also important to note that there is no internet in Kashmir but the trends are being run as Kashmiri.
BBC Hindi news and its reporter Amir Pirzada played a very big part in spreading rumors and fake news. They tweeted a Fake old video to spread the rumors of big protests, violence and stone pelting. One of the Legal Activism group in India “Legal Rights Observatory – LRO” filed a complaint against BBC Hindi and its reporter. In a Tweet, the Legal Rights Observatory – LRO group tweeted, “Complaint lodged against false propaganda by @BBCHindi and its reporter @AmirPeerzadaa for tweeting false video of stone pelting and clashes in #Kashmir after #Article370Scrapped. #LRO has submitted complaint to #NSA #AjitDoval in this regard.”
As per the Ministry of Home affairs tweet, “A news report originally published in Reuters and appeared in Dawn claims there was a protest involving 10,000 people in Srinagar. This is completely fabricated and incorrect. There have been a few stray protests in Srinagar/Baramulla and none involved a crowd of more than 20 persons.”
Hence it seems that fake news is being fed to the International media either by the local sources or the local correspondents who may have vested interests in pedaling the fake news. Hence, we believe to listen to only the government official announcements and communique.
Countering rumor mongering
Noted Journalist Aarti Tikoo Singh in her Tweet mentioned, “Some activists want to see people dying in Kashmir, it makes fascinating optics, great news stories & titillating politics for them. I just hope Kashmiri youth act wisely & don’t fall for this dangerous trap. Hope Kashmiri youth deny them sadistic pleasure & protect themselves.”
Contrary to fear mongering by some Pakistan supporting journalists and media houses, ground report from Jammu and Kashmir shows situation is returning to normal. As per the video released by India TV, the schools have opened Jammu, Samba and Udhampur. Situation is becoming normal. Though the attendance was less, but the schools are open. In Kathua also the school opened, and students chanted slogans ‘Vande Matram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and hoisted Indian Tricolor flag in the Kathua Government college.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited downtown Srinagar (in the area known for activities of stone pelters) today & spent over 2 hours in the area. He interacted with troops and locals and also had lunch with CRPF (Paramilitary) personnel.
In Srinagar the Curfew was relaxed for Friday Prayers. There was peace in Srinagar. As per the video released by ANI, locals arrived at a mosque in Srinagar to offer Friday prayers. The situation was absolutely normal unlike most of the Pakistan supported News channels and media houses were showing.
ANI released another video showing the shops were closed but people move about for their work. One of the hotel owners in Srinagar told, he has 15 rooms in his hotel and all are occupied.
Jammu & Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik visited various localities including Rawalpora, Rambagh, Jawahar Nagar, Sonwar and Rajbagh, in Srinagar. Governor visited the Lalla Ded Hospital and G. B.Pant Children Hospital in Sonwar.
Jammu & Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik talking to ANI correspondent said, “I today visited the Lalla Ded Hospital and GB Pant Children Hospital. There are round the clock services at hospitals. Cash has been disbursed for medicines, patient welfare and for fuel for ambulances.”
He further said, “Langars (free food) are operating at TRC, hospitals & other public places in Srinagar. For Eid, 2.5 lakh sheep/goat have been arranged. 30 lakh poultry also arranged. We have two months stock of ration. There is sufficient stock of petrol, diesel and regular supply for LPG.”
Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) Elected members of Gilgit-Baltistan assembly admits, “We were more autonomous and protected under Dogra rule. We had more rights and respect. Pakistan has taken away everything and paralyzed us. Pakistan rulers/military has nexus with terrorists and abduct/kill us.”
Response of International Community
On a general note, the response from the world is mostly supporting India and in rare cases, though there was dissent, there was a guarded indifference. While some entities like United Nations and Russia directly told that the discussion should be under the aegis of the 1972 treaty with India, entities like US have said it is a bilateral issue between both the countries and appealed from calm. The Bosnian Ambassador to Norway, Nedim Makarevic tweeted “Bosnia is with Pakistan” but he deleted the tweet, replacing it with a general peace. No country has publicly come in support of Pakistan yet.
US Response
The United States on Friday said that there is no change in its policy on Kashmir and called on India and Pakistan to maintain calm and restraint.
The US policy has been that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and it is up to the two countries to decide on the pace and scope of the talks on the issue.
Sri Lanka response
Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe also described India’s action as an “internal” matter. He said, “I understand Ladakh will finally become a Union Territory. With over 70% Buddhist it will be the first Indian state with a Buddhist majority. The creation of Ladakh and the consequential restructuring are India’s internal matters. I have visited Ladakh and it is worth a visit.”
Taliban statement
Taliban on Thursday issued a forceful statement warning against any meddling. “Linking the issue of Kashmir with that of Afghanistan by some parties will not aid in improving the crisis at hand because the issue of Afghanistan is not related, nor should Afghanistan be turned into the theater of competition between other countries,” the Taliban statement read.
UAE Response
UAE’s ambassador to India Dr Ahmad Al Banna said, “We also took note of the introduction of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill in the Indian Parliament aimed at replacing Article 370 with the creation of Ladakh region and the state of Jammu and Kashmir as India’s two new Union Territories.”
He, too, termed it an internal matter as stipulated by the Indian Constitution and noted that reorganisation of states was not a unique incident in the history of independent India and that it was mainly aimed at reducing regional disparity and improving efficiency.
Russia’s Response
Pakistan got a massive setback. Russia in a recent communique, backed India on Jammu & Kashmir. Says, abrogation of Article 370 and Union Territory status to J&K are changes under the framework of Constitution of Republic of India. Kashmir remains an internal matter of India.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia issued a statement to the effect that India and Pakistan should not “allow aggravation of the situation in the region due to the change by New Delhi in the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.”
It also sad, “We hope that the differences between them will be resolved by political and diplomatic means on a bilateral basis in accordance with the provisions of the Simla Agreement of 1972 and the Lahore Declaration of 1999”
Chinese Response
After meeting Pakistan foreign minister Quereshi, Mr. Wang Yi said, “China is seriously concerned about recent escalation of unrest in Kashmir. The Kashmir issue is a dispute left over from colonial history & should be properly resolved by peaceful means in accordance with UN Charter, UNSC resolutions & bilateral agreements.”
Mr. Wang Yi said, “both Pakistan and India are friendly neighbors of China, both are large developing countries, and both are at a critical stage of development.”
State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, we call on both sides to give priority to national development, to peace in South Asia, to properly deal with historical feuds, to break zero-sum thinking, to avoid unilateral action, to seek a new way of peaceful coexistence.”
Pakistan Reaction
Pakistan was shell-shocked at India’s decision of abrogating Article 370 of Indian Constitution. They couldn’t decide what to do. Pakistan is already a Failed, Bankrupt nation and subsisting on IMF loans to survive the imminent Bankruptcy.
Even the International allies either stayed silent or supported India and called for restraint from both sides and some terming the abrogation of Article 370 of Indian Constitution as India’s “Internal affair”.
Pakistan announced on Wednesday that it would halt trade with India and expel the country’s top diplomat in Islamabad in retaliation for India’s decision to unilaterally eliminate the autonomy of Kashmir. Pakistani officials threatened to close the country’s airspace to Indian aircraft.
Pakistan has decided to ban all cultural exchanges with India, including all kinds of joint ventures between the entertainment industry of the two countries.
All kinds of Indian content have been stopped and PEMRA [Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority] has been directed to step up its vigilance along with actions against the sale of Indian DTH instruments
The government has also banned the screening of Indian films in the country’s cinemas. “No Indian film will be screened in any Pakistani cinema. Drama, films and Indian content of this kind will be completely banned in Pakistan”
Pakistan unilaterally suspended the Samjhauta Express train services between Delhi and Lahore. (The Samjhauta Express runs twice a week between the two cities)
Pakistan shut down the Thar Express as well. The Thar Express is a weekly train that runs between Munabo in Barmer district of Rajasthan and Khokrapar in Pakistan.
In an interesting comment, Pakistan Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said, “As long as I am railways minister, no train will operate between Pakistan and India.”
Pakistan’s foreign minister has said he would raise the issue of Kashmir to the United Nations Security Council for a vote. But so far, the country’s closest allies have remained silent on the matter.
FATF Grey Listed Pakistan Planning Terrorist Attacks on India – Inevitable FATF Blacklisting
It is a known fact that, Pakistan doesn’t have funds to start a conventional military reaction as it will be too costly. Only option left before Pakistan to send tens of thousands of Terrorists, they have produced with plausible deniability. Whole world knows that Pakistan is a Terrorist Nation. Pakistan supported Taliban Terrorists have caused havoc in Afghanistan and killing innocent civilians including women in children, in different suicide bombings. Pakistan has also been sending its terrorists to India to kill civilians.
Pakistan’s continuous support to Terrorist groups has already put Pakistan on FATF grey list. However, despite Osama Bin Laden was found and killed inside Pakistan, Pakistan continues to harbor and train terrorists and use them as proxies to keep the neighbors in check. UN Designated Global Terrorist Masood Azhar of Jaish-i-Mohammed, Hafeez Sadeed (listed as a person wanted by Interpol for his involvement in 26/11 terrorist activities), Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Haqqanis, all are flourishing in Pakistan.
Recently, Terrorist Hafeez Saeed was released from the prison. In the absence of any military action from Pakistan Army, Pakistani social media handles started treating Hafeez Saeed as a God and Savior. They threatened India with the Jihadist/Terrorist threat.
Different social media handles started glorifying a global Terrorist. This is a clear indication that in future, there will be many infiltration bids by Pakistani Terrorists, with support and covering fire from Pakistan Army, to push the Terrorist in Indian Border.
However, this most effective strategy of Pakistan that they have traditionally employed, using an array of Terrorist groups as proxies to bleed India and Afghanistan, has become a liability, amid the threat of international sanctions. The Paris-based group that monitors terrorism financing, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), will vote in October on whether Pakistan has done enough to crack down on militant networks at home.
Pakistan hopes to make the case that it has moved against militant groups and should be taken off the gray list on which the watchdog placed it last year. Pakistan deeply fears it could be blacklisted and denied access to international financial markets at a time when it desperately needs loans to stay afloat. If Pakistan is blacklisted, that could tip its economy into recession.
As we mentioned there is a strong support of Terrorist Mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan and people are asking him to unleash his terrorist armies on India and spread terror, It is proved that Pakistan is a state sponsor of Terrorism. Without active support and knowledge of Pakistan Army and Pakistan government, thousands of Terrorists cannot cross Pakistan border and enter in Indian side. In case of any such terrorist infiltration bid, it will clearly prove that Pakistan supported the Terrorists and should be immediately placed in FATF Black List.
(Pakistan has denied that it uses militant groups to achieve its foreign policy objectives.)
The outcome of the peace talks and Pakistan’s role in them will likely influence whether the country finds itself blacklisted internationally over its continued support of terrorist organizations, a move that could save or break its faltering economy. The Paris-based group that monitors terrorism financing, the Financial Action Task Force, will vote in October on whether Pakistan has done enough to crack down on militant networks at home.

In a tweet Official DG ISPR, Asif Gafoor tweeted about the Media blackout in Jammu & Kashmir and said Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is open to foreign media to visit place of their own choosing. One of the Journalists in Pakistan Diaa Hadid replied that Pakistani Controlled Kashmir is not open to foreign media. We need military permission, known as NOC.
Intelligence inputs indicate, Pakistan activated terror launchpads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and is training terrorists.
One of the Pakistani Radical Islamist and Terrorist mastermind, Zaid Hamid who was flogged in Saudi Arabia in the past, in a tweet said, “A painful revenge is coming for the Indians now.. Plans are in motion…now we will take Delhi also as well as Kashmir… Modi has walked into a minefield…. India has started this war.. now we will finish it…. Kashmir will never be abandoned to India… never!! #Kashmir”
In an interview to a media channel he again advocated infiltrating thousands of Islamist Radical Mujaheddin Terrorists from Pakistan side into Indian Border and spread terror in India.
There is a worldwide condemnation of Pakistan over its Policy of letting lose these terrorists to wreck havoc in neighboring countries like India and Afghanistan killing civilians including women and children.
As mentioned earlier, The Paris-based group that monitors terrorism financing, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), has an uphill task in front of it. FATF will vote in October on whether Pakistan has done enough to crack down on militant networks at home. With Pakistan supported Taliban Terrorists indiscriminately killing civilians including women and children and Pakistan planning to send thousands of terrorists in India for spreading terror, it needs to be seen if Pakistan puts its plans of sending terrorists to India, that will immediately invite Blacklisting of Pakistan by FATF and international isolation and sanctions.
